Paul, Cici and Mary Ann were each fined $5.00 for not wearing their Rotary pins.

Semi-Annual Club Assembly: President Patti gave an overview of Rotary Foundation, it's sponsored activities, and explained that our Club is donating $1000 for Polio Plus, $900 for wheelchairs, and $2700 in general giving ($100 per member). Treasurer Patrick distributed handouts showing a "Year to Date" Profit and Loss Statement (July - Dec. 2011, and Prior Year Comparison Balance Sheet.

Matt gave an overview of the July Golf Tournament and Carl will be printing up the new brochures. Entry fees are $800 per foursome, however, a 25% "early bird" discount will be given to those who pay by June 15, making the entry fee the same as last year. Paul will look into a possible Spring Social in March, possibly a box at a Galaxy game.

Cartha reminded everyone that the 4-Way speech contest will be on Feb. 14 (Valentine's Day) and that scholarship applications will soon be distributed. John asked all members try to recruit at least one new member. Updated Member Rosters and Calendar of Events were distributed.

Next week's speaker will be Dr. Gary Matsumoto, Associate Superintendent of the Hacienda La Puente School District. Lunch will be Chef's Choice and the "Opportunity Drawing" will be at 5 to 1. Our server Jose won $29.00 at 4 to 1. Also, we will circulate our Super Bowl Pool for our Foundation, and will sign-up for the IMC Luncheon on March 6th. Volunteers for the 4-Way Speech Contest will also be needed.
